Wow, this year has flown by and once again, we are now gearing up for the busiest time of the year with the arrival of new and returning visitors to the area for the Xmas/New Year Holidays.
Why do we love this time of year so much? Maybe it is the childhood memories of long lazy Summer holidays of just being able to chill out with family and friends, or Summer holidays filled with adventures and activities in new places we visited. Whatever the reason, we find this time of year lots of fun as visitors bring with them a positive and happy holiday vibe which tends to rub off if you just go with the flow.
Summer is now upon us with warm and sultry weather enticing people to enjoy all water activities such as swimming & surfing. A few storms have made everything look fresh and green and most importantly the farmers in rural areas are receiving much needed rain. For those who like to do a bit of fishing the mud crabs are on the march with the fresh water making them move down the creeks and the size of the bucks is encouraging with several good keepers for dinner last weekend. This week there were several huge schools of bait fish and birds working along the Agnes Water beachfront but it was still a bit choppy for small boats to take advantage. The locals have seen some nice Flathead, Bream, Whiting & a couple of nice Jack’s up the creek… but any day is fun out on the Bay and along the surf beach.
We recommend booking accommodation early to avoid disappointment for these popular weekends.
