At first glance Agnes Water/1770 looks like a sleepy little beach town; dig a little deeper and you will find out why so many holiday makers make the big ‘Sea Change’. The increase in activity surrounding Education, Shopping facilities, Employment and Cultural entertainment; Agnes Water/1770 is not only becoming a popular place to holiday but also to live.

With the new Discovery Christian College opening January 2015, families have more option in Education for their children aged Prep to Year 10. High school students can stay closer to home and concentrate on fulfilling the College’s values of “Excellence, Character and Community”.

The opening celebrations of the new Foodworks and Agnes Central Shopping Complex may have died down but the opportunities it creates is only just beginning. The expansion of shops gives opportunity for new stores to open and meet the town’s requirements. A larger array of shops for retail therapy is an attractive draw-card for holiday makers and also creates more employment for the locals.

Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy draws a crowd when it comes to musical entertainment. The town has recently hosted Local and International talents Busby Marou and Ian Moss from Cold Chisel. Both acts drew massive crowds from around Central Queensland for consecutive weekends. Future events such as the 1770 Music Festival feature Bands and Artists over 3 days from the 27th – 29th November 2015. The mixed genre of music will cater to a variety of listeners, starting with a Dance Party with DJ’s on Friday night; moving into Live Bands and Artists on Saturday and then chill on Sunday with Reggae, Blues, Country and Indie styles.
