Agnes Water Orchid & Foliage Show

The Agnes Water Orchid & Foliage Club hosts this expo annually in August at the local community hall in Agnes Water, Queensland. The inaugural Agnes Water Orchid & Foliage expo showcases plants from many different growers & enthusiasts in our region. There is a small entry fee, about $3.00 per person and you can purchase homemade cakes, sandwiches, drinks etc for a very reasonable price.  This will be my third year and I have learned so much about this beautiful and not so hard to grow plant.

The vendors are extremely helpful and proud to tell visitors/buyers how to look after & grow their orchids and I was amazed how little work is involved. The show has many different categories with prizemoney on offer. August is the best time to take full advantage of the natural flowering season of the orchid and the array is stunning! The show also has growers giving valuable lessons in potting, propagating and growing.

Of course, I will be making room again this year to add a few more colourful species to our collection. This event is not to be missed.
