Gladstone Region 1770 Festival 2019

This year’s Gladstone Region 1770 Festival will be held on the 24th to 26th of May, 2019. It will be a very fun-filled weekend!

The festival is held annually on the weekend closest to May 24th, the date Lt. James Cook landed in Bustard Bay in the year 1770.

For more information about the event, check out their Facebook page.

It all starts on Friday including the re-enactment of Captain Cooks landing:

“live performance on 1770 beach which retells the historic occasion of Lieutenant James Cook’s first landing in what later became the beautiful town of 1770.

The Reenactment is a must-see event and promises to educate and excite both young and old alike. Beginning at 4 pm and ending at 8 pm, guests will also be in the perfect position to enjoy the blissful sunset over the bay.” This information came from this page on the Visit Agnes 1770 website.
